BANGsamoro City -- Rallying under the Moro Islamic Liberation Front (MILF) and the Bangsamoro Islamic Armed Forces (BIAF) Chief of Staff Abdulraof "Sammy Gambar" Macacua, along with his role as Secretary General of the United Bangsamoro Justice Party (UBJP), has publicly declared his intention to steer clear of the forthcoming elections in the Bangsamoro Region.

Macacua spoke in an interview following a campaign rally in Maguing, Lanao del Sur, where Commander Bravo of MILF North Western Mindanao Front Command made his presence known.

Commander Bravo leads the MILF's military operations and also holds a position within the Bangsamoro Transition Authority (BTA).

At the campaign rally, Commander Bravo hinted at the existence of dedication, loyalty, or life sacrifices necessary for the greater cause. Macacua clarified that Commander Bravo’s statement does not reflect the official stance of the MILF.

Macacua, who serves as the potential chief minister of the Bangsamoro Autonomous Region in Muslim Mindanao (BARMM), urged all candidates, supporters, and stakeholders to encourage voters to make informed decisions based on their convictions and personal choices.

In a recent statement on his Facebook page, Commander Bravo assured the public that he has no intention of encouraging anyone to cast their votes in a specific direction.

Macacua emphasized the importance of adhering to the principles outlined in the Comprehensive Agreement on the Bangsamoro (CAB) and upholding the peace process in the region.

While sources have yet to disclose election dates or Macacua's direct involvement in the electoral process, his influential role in both the Bangsamoro government's transitional phase and as Governor of Maguindanao del Norte places him in a pivotal position to oversee governance and security matters ahead of the Bangsamoro parliamentary elections.
