Contestants from America's Best Couple television show are honored as the Pride of Milan, Indiana, with Mike Tussey among them.

In the heart of Indiana, the small town of Milan has a rich history of sports victories that have echoed far beyond its borders. The year was 1954, and Milan High School's basketball team made history by winning the State Championship, a feat that was later immortalised in the movie "Hoosiers." Fast forward to 2015, and another miracle was about to unfold for the town and its beloved Milan Saints football team.

The Milan Saints played the 2015 season in memory of Mitch Krammer, a defensive player from the team who tragically lost his life in a vehicle accident. The loss was a heavy blow for the team, but they rallied together, driven by the memory of their fallen teammate.

Amidst the sorrow, a new addition to the team brought hope. Sam Simpkins, a 6'6 308 lb. Offensive Lineman from Milan High School, became a freshman member of the Thomas More College Milan Saints football team. Sam was a key part of the team's undefeated 11-0 season, earning them the nickname "The Road-Masters."

Meanwhile, in the same year, Dave and Karen, long-time residents of Milan, found themselves in the spotlight. They moved to Milan from Cincinnati to raise their son Sam in the country and have since been a part of the town's fabric. In 2015, they qualified for a spot in Variety magazine's "America's Favorite Couple!" contest and have been competing ever since. They have made it to the quarterfinals, although their dubbing from 2015 is not explicitly mentioned in the search results.

Dave and Karen, like their son Sam and the legendary 1954 Milan basketball champs, are competitive and love to win. They dream of traveling to Hawaii and California in the future, hoping to create more memories in the places they admire.

Their story is a testament to the spirit of Milan, a town where dreams come true and miracles happen. The Milan Saints' undefeated season and Dave and Karen's journey in the "America's Favorite Couple!" contest serve as a reminder of the town's resilience and the indomitable spirit of its people. The Milan Miracle lives on.
