In Barangay Mambulac, Silay City, Negros Occident, two volunteer watchers died and five were injured when they were shot by unidentified gunmen at 7:00 am on Monday, May 12, 2025. Barangay Captain Arnie Benedicto from Lantad, Silay City is under suspicion after handing over to the Negros Occidental Provincial Police Office (Nocppo) the previous day.

Colonel Rainerio de Chavez, Nocppo director, confirmed that Benedicto tested positive for drugs.

Supporters of Silay City Mayor Joedith Gallego claimed the victims were taken to Teresita Lopez Jalandoni Hospital, but unfortunately, the two, Albert Salimbot, and Ronnie Piedad, didn't make it.

In Bayang, Lanao del Sur, the city council candidate and the city councilor candidate of the barangay were gunned down. The victims were en route to the polling precinct when they were ambushed.

In the City of Dinas, Zamboanga del Sur, a political supporter died when his companion was caught in a crossfire between two political rivals on the eve of the elections.

In Central Visayas, 9 million policemen were on duty in multiple polling precincts to maintain the peace during the elections.

Brig. Gen. Maranan confirmed that although they've caught a few individuals suspected of vote buying, the overall situation remains clear.
