Contest #17 is currently underway in the Nintendo World Championships, focusing on the NES version

Competitive gamers, get ready to take on the challenge! Nintendo has announced the start of Competition #17 of the Nintendo World Championships: NES Edition on Nintendo Switch Online. This event will run from the current date until 11/11 at 1:59 a.m. PT.

This competition offers a variety of challenges across five classic NES games: Key of the Keese (The Legend of ZeldaTM), Hammer Bro KO (Super Mario Bros. 3TM), Heating Up (ExcitebikeTM), Over & Out (Super Mario Bros. 2TM), and Parapa Palace Pro (Zelda II: The Adventure of LinkTM).

Players can compete against others online, locally, or against their personal bests. The game does not provide information about any prior competitions or their results, but you can watch replays of the top runs for each challenge to learn from the pros.

Moreover, the competition is available in both the World Championships and Survival modes. More than 150 challenging moments from 13 NESTM games are up for grabs. However, please note that NES games are not included in their entirety.

To participate, you'll need a Nintendo Switch Online membership, which auto-renews after the initial term unless canceled. Additionally, a Nintendo Account and internet access are required for online features.

Once the competition ends, you can check your overall placement and compare with others in your birth year. The replays may also provide insights for improving your own times.

Please note that the game is not available in all countries, and additional accessories may be required for multiplayer mode (sold separately). Terms apply for the Nintendo Switch Online service.

For detailed rules and instructions on how to submit scores, we recommend checking the official Nintendo website or the Nintendo Switch Online app announcements. Happy gaming!
