Contentious humanitarian worker alleges Hamas perpetrated fatal bus attack involving Palestinian passengers
In a shocking turn of events, the Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) – the US and Israeli-backed aid distributor in Gaza – has accused Hamas of a deadly attack on a bus carrying their Palestinian workers. The tragedy occurred when a bus filled with over two dozen aid workers en route to a distribution center was targeted, reportedly leaving at least five individuals dead and several others injured.
According to the GHF, those on the bus were local Palestinians working to deliver critical aid. The organization strongly condemns this horrific and deliberate attack, calling it an assault on humanity. They believe that Hamas is responsible for the attack and the potential hostage-taking of some team members.
As a response to the recent threats against its members, Hamas has been threatening GHF members as well as civilians receiving aid. The GHF holds Hamas accountable for the lives of their dedicated workers who were distributing humanitarian aid to the Palestinian people at the foundation's sites in central and southern Gaza.
The alleged attack took place hours after health officials in Gaza reported that at least 25 Palestinians were killed by Israeli gunfire at a GHF site near Gaza City. Despite numerous concerns over the politicization of aid distribution and the chaotic nature of its operations, the GHF continues its mission to provide critical aid to the people of Gaza.
The Gaza Humanitarian Foundation (GHF) has denounced a deadly attack on its bus, characterizing it as a political assault on humanity, and alleging Hamas to be the perpetrator. Amidst threats from Hamas, the GHF continues to pursue its mission in the midst of war-and-conflicts, providing critical aid to the Palestinians, despite the politicized and chaotic circumstances.
