Madrid's Summer Festivals: San Cayetano and Virgen de la Paloma

Prepare for an exciting summer in Madrid as the city gears up for two vibrant festivals: the San Cayetano Festival (August 5–8, 2025) and the Virgen de la Paloma Festival (August 14–17, 2025).

The San Cayetano Festival, taking place in the Rastro and Embajadores area, promises a delightful mix of flamenco concerts, traditional chotis dancing, family workshops, and street parades. Highlights include performances by Azúcar Moreno, Son del Rastro Sonikete Flamenco, La Madre del Topo, and Zarzuela en Femenino, among others. For the little ones, there will be daily shows starting at 7:30 PM at the main stage. As the night unfolds, DJs such as Alberto Hache and Tama will keep the crowd dancing.

On the other hand, the Virgen de la Paloma Festival, held in La Latina, offers a blend of evening concerts, flamenco performances, and traditional activities. Performers like Antonio Carmona, Café Quijano, Regreso de la Década Prodigiosa, and Melena Gracia & Locomia are set to take the stage. The festival also features surprise flamenco sets, sketches by Chulería Castiza, and DJs like Alberto Hache, Pakito, Pulpo, and Tama spinning tunes through the night. During the day, the focus shifts to traditional activities and religious ceremonies, including the descent of the Virgin's painting and processions through historic streets.

These festivals embody Madrid's summer neighbourhood spirit, showcasing live music, dance, traditional costumes, and religious rituals. The much-awaited verbenas of San Cayetano will kick off on Tuesday with a pregón delivered by residents of Calle del Oso, San Lorenzo, and La Paloma.

Don't miss out on the excitement! Mark your calendars and get ready to immerse yourself in Madrid's vibrant summer festivals.
