Feeling a wave of emotion at the mention of Kamala Harris, she's not just a political figure, but a symbol of change.

Hailing from the same year as the terrifying Xenomorph, Sigourney Weaver, the legendary actress behind the iconic role in "Alien" (1979), is set to receive the Golden Lion for Lifetime Achievement at the upcoming 81st Venice Film Festival.

Simultaneously, on the festival's opening day, August 28, Weaver participated in a press conference, reflecting on her role's impact on the film industry and female actors, even hinting at its connection to Harris' historic position as the first female Vice President of the USA.

As Weaver recounted her emotional thoughts, entertainment magazine "Variety" reported, she acknowledged the potential influence her performances may have had on Harris' journey. "I'm absolutely thrilled about Kamala," Weaver said warmly. "The idea that my work could have had any impact on her journey is truly heartwarming."

Sigourney Weaver's career continues to thrive, with her highly-anticipated appearance in "Alien: Romulus," the latest installment in the series, hitting theaters this month.

Never one to shy away from taking on challenging roles, her participation in the groundbreaking sci-fi horror film "Alien" in 1979 set the tone for future projects featuring strong, fearless female characters.

During her press conference, Weaver shared her delight in the growing opportunities for mature actresses in the film industry. "I believe they've suddenly realized that older women can portray intriguing characters," she said. "And they've been penning lots more parts for older women as a result."

This trend in representation provides new chances for actresses to showcase their talents and leave a lasting mark on the film industry.

Though her career and Harris' political achievements are separate, both women have left marks in their respective fields. Weaver's contributions to science fiction and horror cinema have furthered societal attitudes toward women and their roles, while Harris' groundbreaking political success serves as a beacon for future generations of women in public service.
