Bundesliga Clubs Report Record Agent Fees in Latest Financial Year
On Wednesday, the DFL disclosed the financial figures for first and second division clubs, including payments to player agents. While the overall revenues and expenses were largely anticipated, the new revelation indicates that Bundesliga clubs collectively paid €249.717 million in agent fees last year, marking a significant increase compared to the previous season.
Bayern Munich led the pack with an eye-catching €51.195 million spent on agent and intermediary services, establishing themselves as champions in this category. Dortmund and RB Leipzig followed closely with €36.632 million and €35.216 million in agent fees respectively.
Interestingly, FC St. Pauli emerged as the thriftiest club in this regard, spending just €1.29 million on agent fees. The 1. FC Heidenheim ranked second-to-last with €2.562 million, nearly twice as much as St. Pauli. Hamburg SV, having been promoted, also featured in the table with a fee of €3.376 million.
