Buoyed by the need for some minor fixes, the Autobahn 1 between Neustadt-Pelzerhaken and Lensahn junctions is about to undergo a brief moment of transformation. Autobahn GmbH des Bundes, the folks in charge, announced this chunk of news on a Tuesday we'll remember.

What's going to shake things up? The all-important overtaking lane is taking a break for some repair work. This means drivers are going to need to dig deep, channeling some true patience, as traffic will meander through a single lane in each direction for about 200 meters. Gotta love those narrow lane widths in some spots—a mere 3.25 meters!

Apparently, the culprit behind these repairs is no other than a busted culvert revealed by the rainfall of recent days. Our faithful Autobahn GmbH spokesperson assured us that these fixes should be wrapped up by evening's end.

But wait! There's more!

Even as the repairs are underway, those with disabilities should find solace in being able to utilize the connection point at Lübeck. This was promised by a representative from Autobahn GmbH of the federal government.

A resident of Schleswig-Holstein was less than thrilled about this interruption in their travel plans to Lübeck, expressing dissatisfaction over the anticipated delay. After the repairs are completed, traffic will flow like water downhill, particularly at the junction connecting the A1 and A20 near Lübeck.

The German Federal Highway Research Institute (BASt), traffic authorities, and real-time traffic information services are all your best bets for the latest information on the duration and impact of any ongoing repair work on the A1. Remember to keep those sources close, because things can change faster than you can blink an eye.
