A New Home Awaits Martial Art Champions: Rubezh Athletes' Dormitory Breaks Ground in Dincka Village
Construction underway for sports centre "Rubezh" in Dinsk
Get ready to see some serious martial arts action in Dincka Village, Krasnodar Krai! Construction has commenced on a state-of-the-art dormitory specially designed for athletes trained at the prestigious "Rubezh" Martial Arts Center. This new residential complex will ensure top-notch living conditions for participants in training camps and competitions hosted at the fantastic sports complex, which opened in 2022.
The groundbreaking ceremony was an exciting event, attended by Vice-Governor Alexander Nesterenko, Minister of Sports Sergei Timchenko, Chairman of the relevant committee of the ZSK Sergei Nosov, World Champion Sergei Handozhko, and European Championship winner Igor Grushkovsky. After a symbolic button-press, the heavy machinery got to work on the construction site.
This seven-story building will provide accommodations for around 370 athletes, complete with dining facilities and recovery areas for intense training sessions.
With over a thousand athletes – sambists, boxers, and judokas – already training at the "Rubezh" sports center, this additional space is much-needed! Center director Sergei Handozhko highlights the achievements of their students, who have already won medals in both national and international competitions.
Stay tuned for more exciting updates, as it's been hinted that standard gymnastics palaces will soon appear in all districts of Kuban!
This modern dormitory will be equipped with various facilities to support the athletes' training and well-being. It's set to include:
- Modern, ergonomic rooms with modular furniture, storage for training gear, and climate control.
- Recovery areas such as ice baths, physiotherapy stations.
- Light fitness zones featuring yoga mats and mobility equipment.
- Communal kitchens and dining halls for meal prep and nutrition planning.
- Study lounges with Wi-Fi and workstations.
- Direct access to the existing training facilities at the Rubezh sports complex (dojos, gyms).
- Secure equipment storage for weapons, padding, and uniforms.
- Ramps, elevators, and ADA-compliant bathrooms for accessibility.
Construction on this low-rise, energy-efficient structure (expected to take 12–18 months) will be made from durable, fire-resistant composites, offering great soundproofing for athlete privacy. To reduce the environmental footprint, solar panels, rainwater harvesting, and waste-reduction systems may be implemented (pending local regulations).
A collaboration with regional construction firms and sports ministry funding is likely for this exciting project. Stay tuned for more news and updates!
