The GHF recently initiated aid distribution via these centers, providing much-needed supplies to a population under blockade for nearly three months, with limited access to food. Israeli forces are alleged to have fired at civilians near a distribution center again on Tuesday, according to Palestinian reports.
Army officials maintain that soldiers observed suspicious figures approaching within half a kilometer of the distribution point and posing a threat to the troops. They claim that warning shots were initially fired, and further gunfire ensued as the suspects did not comply.
