Construction of Educational Institution: Harry Potter Celebrities Encouraged to Maintain School Attendance
In an unprecedented move, the highly-anticipated "Harry Potter" series for HBO and HBO Max is set to build a temporary school on the Warner Bros. Studios Leavesden grounds near Watford, Hertfordshire, England. This innovative measure is designed to accommodate the educational needs of the young cast members during the series' production.
The school, due to open in 2025, will operate using portable buildings (portacabins) and has received official permission from the Three Rivers District Council to function for up to a decade, mirroring the show's planned production timeline of ten years.
Designed to accommodate up to 600 pupils during large crowd shoots, the school will typically host around 150 child actors. Operating hours will be flexible, with classes running from 5:30 am to 8:30 pm on weekdays, allowing for scheduling around filming, including night shoots and location work.
This dedicated educational infrastructure reflects HBO's commitment to maintaining a steady, consistent production while supporting the well-being and schooling of the young actors involved. The series, set to premiere in 2027 on HBO Max, is currently being produced by HBO.
The series will feature a star-studded cast, including 11-year-old Dominic McLaughlin as Harry Potter, Alastair Stout as Ron Weasley, and Arabella Stanton as Hermione Granger. Notable adult cast members include Nick Frost as Rubeus Hagrid, John Lithgow as Albus Dumbledore, and Paapa Essiedu as Severus Snape.
The series is being overseen by showrunner Francesca Gardiner. With production expected to last for multiple years, this setup is a testament to HBO's investment in ensuring the young actors can balance their filming and educational commitments effectively.
