A foreign doctor working in the area described the scene as "horrifying" and reported that aid workers were overwhelmed with the influx of victims.
UN Secretary-General António Guterres continues to demand accountability for the perpetrators behind these tragedies. "The Secretary-General urges an immediate, unbiased investigation into these events and consequences for the guilty parties," said UN spokesman Stéphane Dujarric in New York. "It is appalling that innocent civilians find themselves in life-threatening situations while seeking basic provisions such as food."
