Dak Lak Central Highlands province seeks public opinions on amendments to the 2013 Constitution

In Dak Lak province, Vietnam, a broad, nationwide effort is underway to amend and supplement the country's 2013 Constitution, emphasizing public participation and systematic consultation methods.

Locals, workers, and Party members are being encouraged to voice their opinions on proposed changes to the Constitution, with a wide range of responses showing a high level of unity and consensus among the community.

Visiting every household

In the Krong Na border commune of Buyon Don District, the local police and authorities are visiting every household to educate residents on how to contribute their opinions. Despite the area's large size and ethnic population, the process has gone smoothly, with people being guided in the practice of democracy in constitutional activities.

Resident elder Y Nu Say Niee said that officials had explained the purpose and significance of the public consultation on amending and supplementing the Constitution, and had helped the elders express their thoughts through the VNeID application. He found this method of submission very convenient and expressed his support for the proposed two-level local authority organization model.

School employees, such as Nguyen Ngoc Linh, deputy principal at the Yu Jut Primary School, have also contributed their comments and encouraged teachers and staff to participate.

Many respondents agree that the proposed amendments and supplements are suitable for the current situation in the country.

Collaborating with ward-level police and digital technology groups

In Buon Ma Thuot City, neighborhood police and mass organizations, along with community digital technology teams, have collaborated to create 13 teams to visit local residents and offer support in submitting feedback.

Nguyen Minh Hoa, a resident, applauded the use of technology, particularly the VNeID app, in facilitating public participation. He expressed his interest in the proposed streamlining of the apparatus and two-level local authority organization model and looked forward to a constitutional process that would ensure legality and lead to the comprehensive reform of the political system.

Participation and feedback from all sectors and units

In addition to the visits, conferences, seminars, and discussions are being organized by various sectors and units across the province to collect opinions from workers, Party members, and the general population.

Enthusiastic opinions from experts and officials

Ha Ngoc Da, former director of the Dak Lak Division of Education and Training, has submitted written comments on the proposed amendments and supplements, which he will forward to the provincial Fatherland Front. He believes that the involvement of the public in the Constitution construction demonstrates national pride and self-respect and will help create a democratic, prosperous, and happy society.

The Deputy President of the provincial Young Entrepreneurs Association, Nguyen Van Huan, also expressed his support for the proposed changes, stating that they align with the people's wishes and expand socio-economic development opportunities.

He is particularly interested in how the draft Resolution will further clarify the role of the Vietnam Fatherland Front in uniting the nation and specify the roles and positions of member organizations, thereby fostering their ability to serve as a bridge between the Party, the State, and the public.

The Deputy Director of the provincial Department of Justice Do Duc Ha said that collecting public feedback creates a practical political and legal consensus, promoting the role of the people as masters in the process of perfecting the Constitution.

Before the end of this month, the Department of Justice will advise the provincial People's Committee to prepare a report summarizing the opinions of the people and various sectors in the province to submit to the Ministry of Justice [1][2].
