'Consonancy of Fantasy' presents Ctg-based artists' works in Dhaka
A group art exhibition titled Consonancy of Fantasy has showcased works by five Chattogram-based contemporary artists in Dhaka. Running from Friday until today, the event features diverse mediums, including drawings, paintings, scroll paintings, and iron sculptures. The show explores themes tied to the post-pandemic world and other modern crises.
The exhibition opened at Safiuddin Shilpalay in Dhanmondi, presenting pieces by Sanjoy Kumar Das, Uttam Kumer Talukder, Sanjib Barua, Jaber Ahmed Chowdhury, and Arun Kumar Shil. Each artist brought a distinct approach to their work.
Sanjoy Kumar Das contributed *Life through Vaccination 3*, a piece reflecting on experiences from the pandemic. Uttam Kumer Talukder’s artwork layers multiple events and symbols, creating depth in his compositions. Sanjib Barua’s pieces, meanwhile, focus on the relentless passage of time and its harsh effects. Jaber Ahmed Chowdhury’s iron sculptures capture life’s joys and struggles using minimal geometric forms. Arun Kumar Shil’s drawings contrast varied images, adding another layer of visual storytelling to the show. The event’s curator has not been publicly named in available sources, though further details may appear in official gallery announcements or local art coverage.
The Consonancy of Fantasy exhibition closes today after a short but impactful run. It provided a platform for Chattogram artists to address contemporary issues through their distinct creative styles. Visitors had the chance to engage with a mix of mediums and perspectives on modern challenges.
