Consider reviving the dismissed manager as a potential option, allegedly suggested, amidst growing uncertainties surrounding Ruben Amorim's tenure at Manchester United.

Manchester United's current fortunes have sparked discussions about a potential return for former manager, Jose Mourinho. Scott Minto, a football pundit, believes that Mourinho could turn around the team's performance.

Mourinho previously spent over two years at Old Trafford, winning 84 out of his 144 matches, giving him a win rate of just over 58%. This win rate is the highest among permanent managers in United's history, surpassed only by Sir Alex Ferguson.

In contrast, Ruben Amorim, the current Manchester United manager, has a win rate of 38% in the first 10 months of his reign. This translates to a loss of 16 games out of 31 Premier League matches. Despite the poor performance, Amorim maintains the backing of the Manchester United board.

Rumours of Mourinho's potential return to Manchester United have been circulating, with Mourinho expected to soon return to Benfica Lisbon, the Portuguese football record champion, after being dismissed by Fenerbahce Istanbul. Mourinho's return to Benfica follows a defeat to the Eagles in the Champions League play-off round.

It is worth noting that Mourinho had agreed a deal with Benfica, but his return to Old Trafford could potentially disrupt these plans. Mourinho finished second in the Premier League during the 2017/18 season with Manchester United and lifted the Europa League, League Cup, and Community Shield during his tenure.

Interestingly, Ruben Amorim was previously considered for the Manchester United manager role. However, if the team decides to replace Amorim with Mourinho, they will have to wait as Amorim is set to be sacked by Manchester United unless he reverses major decisions.

Meanwhile, Bruno Lage was dismissed by Benfica on Tuesday, paving the way for Mourinho's potential return to the club where he spent three months as his first senior managerial role in 2000. Mourinho is considered an ideal candidate for Benfica by Scott Minto.

This development has stirred excitement among United fans, who are hoping for a turnaround in the team's performance under Mourinho's leadership. Only time will tell if Mourinho will indeed return to Manchester United.
