Citizens' Assemblies Planned in Kaarst Districts

The Working Group on Urban Development in Kaarst has announced a series of citizens' assemblies across various districts, aiming to engage local residents in important community discussions.

Starting from January 11, the first assembly will take place in Holzbuettgen at Bischofshof, followed by Kaarst-West on January 30 at Haus Broicherhof. Other meetings are scheduled for Kaarst-Ost on January 22 at "Rice & Spice" (Badeniastraße 13), Kaarst-Mitte on January 17 at the Parish Center Kaarst, and Vorst on February 1 at Effershof. The assembly in Kaarst-West will begin at 7 PM, while the one in Holzbuettgen will start slightly later at 7:30 PM.

These citizens' assemblies are not a new initiative, nor a response to perceived misguided politics in the city, but rather an extension of the Working Group on Urban Development's ongoing advocacy for action in Kaarst. The idea for these assemblies has been prepared for a long time, and they were planned in the middle of last year.

The Working Group, led by Lars Christoph and Anette Schots-Hamm, is eager to hear diverse input from the community as they aim to address specific local concerns or planning issues in Kaarst’s districts. Although the exact purpose of these assemblies has not been disclosed, it is clear that they are intended to foster democratic participation and engage residents in decision-making processes.

While it is unclear whether all Kaarst households will receive information about these assemblies via flyer in the coming days, it is certain that the information about the citizens' assemblies in Kaarst will be made available to the public. For the most accurate and up-to-date information, it is advisable to consult official Kaarst municipal sources or recent local news.

The citizens' assemblies in Kaarst are not limited to specific districts; they are also scheduled for General-News areas like Kaarst-Ost (Rice & Spice) and Vorst (Effershof). Other than urban development, discussions in the citizens' assemblies may cover Other politics or general-news topics, as the Working Group welcomes diverse input from the community.
