Two Injured in Car Collision on A9 - Consecutive Accidents on A9 Near Dittersdorf Cause Injuries, Road Closure
Two consecutive accidents on the A9 highway near Dittersdorf (Saale-Orla district) on October 2, 2025, resulted in significant damage and injuries. A rescue helicopter was called to the scene, and the road was closed in the direction of Berlin.
The first watch involved three cars with ten people, fortunately with no reported injuries. The cause of this accident remains unknown. Approximately 300 meters behind the first, a second accident occurred, involving five people in three cars, with two injuries - one light and one severe. The police believe the first watch contributed to the second. The total material damage from both accidents is estimated at 80,000 euros. A fourth car was also involved in the second accident, but the number of occupants is unclear. The police have not released the name of the 43-year-old driver involved in the second collision.
The second accident resulted in injuries and significant damage, with the first watch potentially contributing to it. The road was closed for cleanup and investigation. The police continue to investigate the cause of the first watch.
