"Connor Selby expresses feelings of being a societal outcast throughout his life, but focuses on transforming adversities into advantages"
Connor Selby, a multiple award-winning blues-roots musician and singer, is set to embark on a 10-date UK headline tour starting in Southampton on August 20. The tour comes as Selby prepares to release his new album, "The Truth Comes Out Eventually," on August 29.
The new album is a more polished version of Selby's 2023 self-titled record. It features a blend of blues, soul, jazz, and country and western, with a distinctive "Blues Brothers" big-band feel that includes Hammond organ, horns, and backing vocals. Selby's emotive, soulful vocals shine throughout the album, particularly on the folky ballads.
One of the standout tracks on the album is "Someone," Selby's first new music since 2023. The song is about finding someone who accepts him for who he is despite his feelings of being an outsider. It has already received praise from Joe Bonamassa, who added it to his Cutting Edge Blues playlist on Spotify.
Selby's music often explores themes of mental health, both personal and observed, adding emotional depth and integrity to his songwriting. His style can evoke physical responses such as goosebumps, especially on folky ballads, revealing his dynamic range and depth.
Selby has been recognised as one of the most critically acclaimed British blues guitarists of his generation. He was voted Traditional Blues Artist Of The Year at the UK Blues Awards in 2020, 2022, and 2023. In 2025, he was nominated in three categories at the UK Blues Awards.
Selby has had the opportunity to gig with some of the biggest names in music, including The Who, Pearl Jam, and Beth Hart. He even played on one of the smaller stages at Hyde Park with Pearl Jam, a performance that was well received. However, despite his opening act at Wembley Stadium in July 2019, he did not get to meet Pete or Roger from The Who.
Tickets and dates for Selby's UK tour can be found on his website. Don't miss the opportunity to witness this young British troubadour bring his unique brand of blues to life on stage.
