Conflicts Arise as Trump Targets Judicial Figures

In a series of statements made on his Truth network before his departure to the UK, U.S. President Donald Trump criticized former special prosecutor Jack Smith and Judge Juan Merchan, who presided over his trial for hidden payments to a porn star.

Trump accused Jack Smith of opening an investigation into Turning Point, a movement created by American ultra-conservative influencer Charlie Kirk. This comes after the assassination of Kirk on September 10, which has seen an increase in attacks on Democrats and progressive organizations from the Republican camp, accusing them of promoting political violence.

However, it's important to note that Jack Smith neither interrupted the investigative efforts of Turning Point USA nor its associated movements during President Joe Biden's tenure. The available information focuses on investigations related to civil terrorism fears and left-wing political violence connected to the murder of Turning Point founder Charlie Kirk. There's no direct indication that Smith targeted the organization's activities.

Meanwhile, a Republican lawmaker from Wisconsin has introduced a bill to block federal funds to organizations employing people 'who tolerate and celebrate political violence.' The bill targets organizations that fund left-wing organizations, according to a report by The Washington Post.

Trump also expressed a wish that the 'corrupt' judge 'one day pay a very high price for his illegal actions' in reference to Judge Merchan, who presided over the Stormy Daniels case. Trump claimed that the Department of Justice was weaponized against his political opponents, including himself.

In a surprising turn of events, Jack Smith resigned from the Department of Justice after being appointed special prosecutor in 2022 and launching federal charges against Trump for illegal attempts to overturn the 2020 election results and retention of classified documents after leaving the White House.

The charges against Trump were dropped after his re-election, in accordance with the tradition of not prosecuting a sitting president. Trump was found guilty of 34 charges for hidden payments of $130,000 to the former porn star, Stormy Daniels.

Trump's criticism of Judge Merchan and Jack Smith comes as the Open Society Foundation of billionaire George Soros and the Ford Foundation, which fund left-wing organizations, are under scrutiny. The Republican president stated that the radical left has caused enormous damage to the country.

The New York Times reported these developments, providing a comprehensive account of the ongoing political drama in the United States.
