Lose Your Head Over Wembley Madness!

The emotions are still running wild following the promotion final chaos between BFC Preussen and Eintracht Mahlsdorf (1:0) three days ago! The heartbroken guests, who missed their shot at the Regionalliga Nordost due to a "Wembley goal" by the hosts in the last minute, just won't let it go.

Eintract Mahlsdorf isn't backing down. They took to their own Instagram page to voice their frustration: "Our team was robbed of the championship by a biased referee decision!"

So, What Went Down?

On Saturday, Preussen's defender Lenny Stein (29) smacked the ball against the underside of the bar, where it bounced off the ground and ricocheted back onto the field. The linesman quickly signaled a goal. Preussen celebrated, and come Monday, they shared photos from their Veo camera in the stadium, implying a legal goal.

But Mahlsdorf clapped back on Tuesday: "Yesterday, BFC Preussen spread a video claiming to prove a regular goal in the 95th minute. Now, we're sharing the raw, unedited footage from our Veo camera - undeniably: The ball never crossed the goal line."

Goal or no goal - perception versus reality? Fans from both teams are locked in an intense online argument, and there were disruptions on the pitch immediately after the final whistle.

BFC Preussen and Eintracht Mahlsdorf - A History of Rivalry?

It's worth mentioning that both teams had a recent vicious encounter during the Berlin Cup semi-final. Preussen was in the lead 2:1 against Eintracht when the referee awarded a controversial penalty to Mahlsdorf in overtime. Preussen protested the call at the time. In the end, Mahlsdorf won 4:2 (a.e.t.), making it to the Cup final (0:2 against BFC Dynamo).

Preussen president Uwe Utz on the heated Mahlsdorf matchups: "Luck often evens itself out. You spend some time shining in the spotlight, and other times you're in the shadows. You can't control referee decisions."

And what does he think about the Wembley goal? Utz: "From where I was standing, the ball definitely crossed the line!"

In the heated debate following the controversial goal incident, sports analysts are scrutinizing the footage from both teams' Veo cameras to determine if the ball truly crossed the goal line, a pivotal moment referred to as the "Wembley goal". Amidst the disagreements, European leagues and the Champions League watch closely as this incident has fueled an intense rivalry between BFC Preussen and Eintracht Mahlsdorf. On their Instagram page, Eintracht Mahlsdorf continued to express frustration over the incident, questioning the referee's decision and affirming their belief that their team was robbed of the championship.
