Confirmed Teams for the Women's World Cup 2025: An Overview of the Participants to Date

The countdown to the 2025 Women's World Cup has begun, with several nations announcing their squads and making preparations for the global event. The tournament, set to kick off on September 30, will see eight teams battle it out for cricket supremacy.

In a significant development, Australia has called back Sophie Molineux for the tournament after her surgery. The experienced all-rounder will be joined by Phoebe Litchfield, who has earned her maiden ODI World Cup call-up. The final will be held on November 2.

Meanwhile, England's Heather Knight has returned to the squad following an injury lay-off. Sophie Devine, however, has announced her retirement from ODIs after the tournament.

India's squad, led by Harmanpreet Kaur, features some familiar faces like Smriti Mandhana, Jemimah Rodrigues, and Deepti Sharma, among others. Notably, Shafali Verma has been omitted from the ODI side for the World Cup.

Pakistan and Bangladesh qualified for the tournament by topping the Qualifier in April. Pakistan, in particular, impressed with five consecutive wins, with Fatima Sana leading the side as captain. Their squad includes Muneeba Ali Siddiqui (vice-captain), Aliya Riaz, Diana Baig, Eyman Fatima, Nashra Sundhu, Natalia Parvaiz, Omaima Sohail, Rameen Shamim, Sadaf Shamas, Sadia Iqbal, Shawaal Zulfiqar, Sidra Amin, Sidra Nawaz, Syeda Aroob Shah. Reserves: Gull Feroza, Najiha Alvi, Tuba Hassan, Umm-e-Hani, Waheeda Akhtar.

South Africa's squad includes Laura Wolvaardt (captain), Ayabonga Khaka, Chloe Tryon, Nadine de Klerk, Marizanne Kapp, Tazmin Brits, Sinalo Jafta, Nonkululeko Mlaba, Annerie Dercksen, Anneke Bosch, Masabata Klaas, Sune Luus, Karabo Meso, Tumi Sekhukhune, Nondumiso Shangase. Reserve: Miane Smit.

As of now, no official squad has been announced for the tournament by New Zealand. The top four sides will advance to the semi-finals on October 29 and 30, with the final set for November 2.

Each team will play seven games in the group stage, with a total of 28 group matches scheduled. The 2025 Women's World Cup promises to be an exciting spectacle, showcasing the best of women's cricket from around the world.
