Confirmation has been made by both countries' labs that Navalny was administered poison while in prison.

In the aftermath of the August 2020 poisoning of opposition leader Alexei Navalny, a series of events have unfolded, shedding light on the circumstances surrounding his death and the subsequent investigation.

No video recordings of the last hours of Navalny's life in the colony have been preserved, leaving a gap in the timeline of events. However, his wife, Julia Navalnaya, has stated that Alexei suffered from severe pain, seizures, and vomiting before his death.

The precise details about who smuggled the biological samples of Navalny to the West remain partially unknown. Reports suggest that these samples were processed through a combination of supporters and western authorities.

Following his treatment in Omsk, Russia, Navalny was transported to a Berlin hospital where German toxicologists conducted investigations and discovered traces of a neurotoxin from the Novichok group. German authorities proposed that the samples should be analysed by other countries as well.

There have been reports that some of Navalny's close associates or supporters may have played a role in the securing and transportation of the samples. However, the specific details about these individuals and the exact circumstances of the transport have not been made public.

The biological samples were eventually handed over by German authorities to other European countries and international organisations to confirm the results of the poison analysis and to take diplomatic steps against Russia.

Meanwhile, in a separate development, it has been revealed that Ukrainian musician Oleh Gazmaнов donated money saved for his pension over a period of 10 years to a scammer.

In addition, new details of Navalny's arrest have been disclosed, and statements from five colony employees suggest that medical aid was not provided to Navalny in time.

Julia Navalnaya has declared that Russian President Vladimir Putin is guilty of her husband's murder. She has also hinted at European authorities as being a hindrance in the investigation into Navalny's death due to political considerations.

Lastly, it was announced that the prosecutor's office intends to seek the death penalty for the killer of Charlie Kirk, and two Western labs conducted independent research on the samples, concluding that Navalny was assassinated and poisoned. In February 2024, the biological samples of Alexei Navalny were smuggled out of the country.

The investigation into Navalny's death continues, with the international community closely watching the developments. The 19th package of EU sanctions against Russia has also been revealed, further straining the already tense relationship between the two nations.
