Condor and Emirates overhaul partnership, cutting frequent flyer perks from May

Condor is making changes to its partnership with Emirates, affecting frequent flyer benefits. From 1 May, passengers on Condor flights will no longer earn Emirates Skywards miles. However, the two airlines will continue working together in a restructured agreement.

The decision follows an analysis of booking trends among Skywards members in Germany. While earning miles on Condor flights will stop, travellers can still redeem existing Skywards miles for Condor tickets.

Condor has also expanded its network through a new codeshare deal with Etihad. Starting this summer, flights from Frankfurt and Berlin to Abu Dhabi will operate under this partnership. The airline maintains other collaborations, including one with Alaska Airlines, but has no plans to grow its frequent flyer programme further.

The changes take effect on 1 May, ending mile accrual but keeping redemption options open. Condor's focus remains on existing partnerships, with no immediate expansion of its loyalty strategy. The restructured Emirates deal reflects shifting travel patterns in the German market.
