Conclusion of the outdoor swimming pool season at the Ring-allee

The Ringallee Outdoor Pool in Giessen, Germany, recently concluded its 2025 season, welcoming around 4,500 visitors during the "Play Your Game" City Day. This event, held on June 29, showcased various sports, including lesser-known ones like floorball, with seven sports clubs from Giessen and the region participating.

Uwe Volbrecht, head of Giessen's pools, expressed satisfaction with the number of visitors despite the pool not breaking any records this year. The cool weather and gloomy summer holidays in 2025 may have contributed to this, as visitor records were not broken, unlike in previous years.

In 2025, the Ringallee Outdoor Pool was open for 133 days, attracting a total of approximately 4,500 visitors during the City Day. This is around 10,000 fewer visitors than in the previous year. However, the overall 2025 season saw around 91,000 guests visiting the Ringallee Outdoor Pool, demonstrating its continued popularity.

Looking forward, plans are underway to install four outdoor fitness machines on the grounds of the former mini-golf course. These machines are expected to be installed by the start of the next summer season in early May 2026. The exact installation date is not yet specified, but the installation will take place before the pool reopens.

During the off-season, maintenance and repairs will be conducted on Giessen's pools. The Ringallee Indoor Pool and the West Pool will remain open until the start of the next summer season in early May 2026. The Ringallee Outdoor Pool will close on September 14, 2025, marking the end of another successful summer season. Despite the slight dip in visitor numbers this year, the pool continues to be a popular destination for locals and visitors alike, offering a refreshing escape during the warm months.
