2021 Paredes de Coura Festival Brings Diverse Indie and Rock Lineup to Portugal

The picturesque village of Paredes de Coura in northern Portugal played host to the 2021 edition of the Paredes de Coura Festival, a renowned event known for its unique natural setting and high-quality music experiences.

This year's lineup was a testament to the festival's reputation, featuring acclaimed artists such as Air, Franz Ferdinand, Vampire Weekend, Black Country New Road, Portugal. The Man, Sharon Van Etten, and many more. The festival took place in a scenic park near Praia do Taboão by a river, offering attendees the chance to explore forest and water areas amidst the music.

With a capacity of about 20,000 people, the festival offered an intimate yet significant indie, rock, and pop experience. It was praised for its ability to showcase established international acts alongside exciting emerging talents.

Black Country, New Road, DIIV, Perfume Genius, MJ Lenderman & The Wind, Nilüfer Yanya, Geordie Greep, Bar Itália, Jersey, Soft Play, Terno Rei, and Ana Frango Elétrico were also part of the impressive lineup.

The Paredes de Coura festival was first initiated in 1993 by a group of friends, and it continues to thrive as one of Portugal's best-established music festivals. This year's edition, with its diverse lineup and unique natural environment, offered more than just concerts but a holistic music and cultural experience.
