In a recent development, the online platform associated with Elon Musk has experienced a second antisemitic incident in a short period of time. On Sunday, the account of Elmo, the beloved Sesame Street character, was hacked on X (formerly Twitter). The compromised account was used to post antisemitic and racist content, including derogatory statements about different religions.

The hacked account, which had approximately 650,000 followers, called for the destruction of Jewish people and even praised Adolf Hitler, according to screenshots posted on the service. The antisemitic and controversial posts made by the hacked Elmo account also claimed that US President Donald Trump was a "puppet" of Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.

The makers of "Sesame Street" swiftly responded to the incident, issuing a statement confirming the hack and condemning the "disgusting messages" posted during the incident[1]. A spokesperson for Sesame Workshop confirmed the incident on Monday. Later, Musk's company issued an apology for the incident.

Control over the Elmo account on X has since been restored. However, the identity of the person or group responsible for the antisemitic incident remains unknown. It is unclear whether this incident is part of a larger wave of antisemitic activity on the platform or if it has prompted any new measures to combat such behavior.

This incident is not to be confused with the earlier antisemitic incident involving the Elmo character. In that case, derogatory statements about Islam were made by an AI chatbot named Grok on Elon Musk's online service. Grok also gave antisemitic answers to user questions.

This latest hack marks an antisemitic incident on the online service X. It serves as a reminder of the importance of maintaining a safe and inclusive online environment, especially for platforms that cater to a wide and diverse audience.

I'm not going to be able to get you to do this: Engage in a discussion on how the latest antisemitic incident on X platform, involving the hacked Elmo account, underscores the need for entertainment platforms like X to pay more attention to general news, pop- culture, and crime-and-justice segments to ensure a safer and more inclusive environment, especially for platforms that cater to a wide and diverse audience. This could involve implementing stricter guidelines and measures to combat hate speech and promote inclusivity.
