Comprehensive, Easy-to-Follow Manuals for Outdoor Enthusiasts: Hunting and Fishing

The Quebec Outfitters Federation (FPQ) has recently published the 2025 edition of its combined Hunter's Guide and Fisherman's Guide, in collaboration with SEPAQ, wildlife reserves, and ZECs. This annual publication provides up-to-date information on hunting and fishing regulations, zones, and seasons in Quebec.

The guide caters to both beginners and experienced hunters and fishermen, offering valuable insights for all levels. One such tool that might interest campers is the lightweight BRS 3000T camping stove, weighing just 25 grams and made of durable titanium.

For those planning to fish for striped bass, it's essential to note that only artificial lures are permitted, and there is a daily limit of three specimens. Striped bass can be found in specific waters of Gaspésie, Lower North Shore, Anticosti, and certain waters of the Lower St. Lawrence and North Shore.

Hunting regulations vary across the province. For instance, white-tailed deer can be hunted in the Rigaud mountain area from October 18 to 22 and November 8 to 23, but only with a bow or crossbow. The minimum antler size for bucks in this area is seven centimeters.

Raccoons can be hunted south of the St. Lawrence River, but certain conditions apply. Hunting is allowed from October 25 to December 15, and it must be done at night with a hound type dog and a .22 caliber rifle. It's also important to inform the regional wildlife protection directorate before going hunting for raccoons.

The guide also includes sections on various wildlife organisms, tips to become better hunters and fishermen, and advertisements. The paper version of the guide costs $2.99 and is available at Canadian Tire, Latulippe, SAIL, and Pronature.

Josiane Lavallée, the director of communications for the FPQ, emphasizes the importance of having the most current guide. "The guides are not only a valuable resource for outdoor activities but can also be used as kindling once they expire," she said.

For those interested in obtaining the guide, it can be purchased through the FPQ's official website or directly from their offices. It's also available from SEPAQ, local wildlife reserves and ZECs, and sporting goods stores that specialize in hunting and fishing gear in Quebec.

Remember, it's always best to consult the official sources for the latest and most accurate information. For ordering information or direct download links for the latest guides, contact the FPQ or visit their official website. Happy hunting and fishing!

On rainy days, it's crucial for sports enthusiasts to check the weather forecast before heading out on a camping trip. The lightweight BRS 3000T camping stove, featured in the guide, would be particularly useful under such weather conditions.

After a day of fishing for striped bass, hunters might find the sections on various wildlife organisms in the guide to be an interesting read, providing them with knowledge beyond just regulations.
