Former Tennis Star Boris Becker Wins Lawsuit Against Oliver Pocher

In a landmark ruling, Boris Becker, the three-time Wimbledon champion, has emerged victorious in his lawsuit against TV comedian Oliver Pocher. The case, which revolved around images from the RTL show "Pocher - dangerously honest", was confirmed by the Federal Court of Justice (BGH) in Karlsruhe.

The legal saga began when Pocher, in his show, aired controversial image sequences featuring Becker. The Higher Regional Court in Karlsruhe, in a ruling from November 2023, decided in Becker's favour, a decision that has now become final.

According to the ruling, Pocher is no longer allowed to distribute the controversial image sequences from the TV contribution. He was also instructed to delete relevant film clips from his own internet presence to the extent they were published.

In the initial ruling, Pocher was ordered to pay a three-digit euro amount, hidden in a supposed fashion prize awarded to him in the show. However, neither Becker nor Pocher appeared in court during this instance.

Pocher, initially, wanted to appeal the court's decision at the Federal Court of Justice (BGH), but his complaint against the non-admission of his appeal has been rejected. His lawyer, Patricia Cronemeyer, was not immediately available for a statement.

On the other hand, Becker's lawyer, Samy Hammad, confirmed that their legal opinion has been confirmed. "We are pleased with the ruling and believe it upholds the principles of fairness and respect for privacy," Hammad said.

As of now, the case seems to be closed, with Becker walking away as the winner. The images that sparked the lawsuit have been removed from Pocher's internet presence, marking an end to a legal battle that captured public attention.
