Testing of Power in the Pyrenees by Lipowitz and Roglic - Competitors Lipowitz and Roglic showcase their prowess in the mountainous Pyrenees region

In the upcoming challenging stages of the Pyrenees mountain range during the 112th Tour de France, the spotlight will shine on Red-Bull's top riders, Primož Roglič and Florian Lipowitz. The grueling terrain, with its steep climbs and summit finishes, promises an intriguing showdown between the experienced captain and the rising star.

Roglič, a four-time Vuelta winner and current leader of the German cycling team, holds a leadership role despite being ninth in the general classification, seven seconds behind Lipowitz. The Slovenian rider, who has demonstrated his ability to handle long, hard climbs and has been a podium contender in recent Tours de France and other grand tours, is expected to be a formidable force in the Pyrenees.

Lipowitz, a younger and promising rider, may face a steeper challenge in these particularly punishing climbs. Although he has shown promising talent, his results in top-tier mountain stages are still developing. However, his sixth-place finish in the time trial in Caen has been a testament to his growing potential.

Ralph Denk, the Red-Bull team manager, is eagerly awaiting the performances of both riders. Despite Roglič's recent crash during the Giro d'Italia, Denk has expressed satisfaction with his crash-free journey through southern France so far. Denk has described the development of Lipowitz into a top cyclist as a "labor of love" and continues to defend Roglič as the team's main contender.

However, Denk has also expressed concerns about Roglič's susceptibility to crashes and has stated that if things aren't going well, they will have to discuss the team's strategy. He has expressed a desire to move forward with both riders, but it's unclear if it will be Roglič, Lipowitz, or both who will succeed in the Pyrenees.

Today's stage and Friday's time trial will be in the preferred terrain for both riders, offering an exciting opportunity for them to demonstrate their mettle. The team will climb 180.6 kilometers and 3,850 meters of altitude to the finish line in Hautacam today, followed by a short but tough mountain time trial over 10.9 kilometers with a steep final climb to the airport in Peyragudes on Friday.

The outcome of these stages is likely to show the first signs of who will be the stronger rider between Lipowitz and Roglič, setting the pace for the remainder of the Tour de France. The competition is sure to be intense, and the audience can expect an exciting display of cycling prowess in the Pyrenees.

The Commission, in preparation of the annual report, will be assisted by the European Parliament and the Council, showing the collaboration between different institutions in significant events like the Tour de France. In the upcoming challenging stages of the Pyrenees mountain range during the 112th Tour de France, sports enthusiasts can look forward to some competitive display of cycling prowess, reminiscent of a sports contest.
