In the bustling atmosphere of the Fritz-Jacob-Anlage in Leverkusen, the 2025 German Championships saw the impressive performances of Lina Kampmann and Julius Lucas, both representing TV Neheim and LAC Veltins Hochsauerland.

Lina Kampmann's Remarkable Showing

Kampmann, a 14-year-old athlete, made a strong impact in the heptathlon. Despite a troubling thigh injury, she clocked 13.36 seconds in the 100-meter sprints, a respectable time given the circumstances. In the 800-meter run, she managed 2:51.70 minutes, showcasing her endurance.

Kampmann's standout moment came in the long jump, where she improved her personal best by 14 centimeters, achieving a distance of 5.00 meters. Her second personal best of the day came in the shot put, with a throw of 8.55 meters.

Julius Lucas' Impressive Multi-Event Performance

On the other hand, Julius Lucas, also 14, excelled in the decathlon. He set a personal unofficial best time in the 100 meters with a time of 12.33 seconds. In the 110-meter hurdles, he improved his personal best with a time of 12.57 seconds.

Lucas's performance in the field events was equally impressive. He achieved a new personal best in the discus throw with a distance of 38.03 meters and improved his javelin throw by almost four meters to 41.42 meters, placing third in the discipline.

In the high jump, Lucas cleared the bar at 1.58 and 1.61 meters on his first attempts, improving his personal best by seven centimeters. His long jump distance improved by 20 centimeters, reaching 5.40 meters.

However, Lucas's pole vault attempt at 3.20 meters was marred when the bar wobbled and fell after a touch. Despite this setback, his clearances of heights from 2.70 to 3.10 meters secured him a strong position in the event.

A Promising Future for Both Athletes

Both Lina Kampmann and Julius Lucas demonstrated their potential in the 2025 German Championships. Their dedication and hard work are evident in their impressive performances, and they look set to continue making waves in the world of athletics.
