Dmitry Kiligin Shines at the Russian 'Abilympics'

Dmitry Kiligin, a participant of the Special Military Operation (SVO), has expressed his satisfaction with his performance at the recent 'Abilympics' held in Kazan. The competition, which brought together 259 contestants from 79 regions of Russia, is a platform for individuals with disabilities to demonstrate their professional skills in various trades and services.

Kiligin, a resident of Yakutia, represented his region in the competence "Repair and maintenance of vehicles". He was assigned the first day of the competition and completed the engine task relatively quickly. However, he found the gearbox more challenging, spending the allotted two hours to diagnose and fix all malfunctions before successfully reassembling the parts.

The 'Abilympics' experience has inspired Kiligin to keep moving forward. He enjoys his work at "Sakhaenergo" and continues to improve his skills. He believes that competitions like the 'Abilympics' are crucial for individuals with health limitations, as they provide a platform to find a new calling and feel supported.

Dmitry Chernyshenko, Deputy Chairman of the Government of Russia, emphasized the importance of the 'Abilympics' in providing participants of the SVO with opportunities to occupy certain positions in various fields and directions. The competitive program included 15 competencies, such as industrial robotics, woodcarving, and management of unmanned aerial vehicles.

Kiligin felt like a full-fledged, equal participant during the 'Abilympics'. Before the SVO, he worked as a driver of heavy trucks. After being wounded, he changed his profession and now works as a tailor in the company "Sakhaenergo". In his free time, he enjoys fishing and taking care of his home.

79 people from 37 regions became winners of the Russian 'Abilympics' and will participate in the final of the National championship in Moscow this fall. The Russian 'Abilympics' movement unites all regions of the country, promoting social integration and employment opportunities for individuals with disabilities.
