Judicial Service Commission Announces Competitive Examinations for District Judge Posts

The Judicial Service Commission (JSC) of Nepal has announced competitive examinations for the post of District Judge. The examinations are scheduled to take place from July 20 to July 23, 2082, in the Kathmandu Valley.

The examinations are open, inclusive, and have separate groups for internal open, open, women, and various ethnic communities including Brahmin, Chhetri, Janajati, and Madhesi.

The examination schedule for each group is the same, with slight variations in the number of vacancies. The groups and their corresponding vacancies are as follows:

  • Internal Open Group: 11 vacancies
  • Open Group: 6 vacancies
  • Madhesi Group: 1 vacancy
  • Indigenous/Janajati Group: 2 vacancies
  • Women Group: 1 vacancy

The examination fee for internal open, open, and each inclusive group is NPR 2,000 and an additional NPR 500 for each inclusive group. The bank details for the examination fee are provided in the article.

The examination group for Madhesi and Indigenous/Janajati will begin on July 20. The first paper for the Madhesi group will be Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, and Legal System at 1:00 PM on July 20. The first paper for the Indigenous/Janajati group will be Jurisprudence, Constitutional Law, and Legal System at the same time on July 20.

The second paper for both groups will be Civil Law and Civil Procedure on July 21 at 1:00 PM. The second paper for the Indigenous/Janajati group will be followed by Criminal Law and Criminal Procedure on July 22 at 1:00 PM, and the third paper for the Madhesi group will be on the same day.

The fourth and final paper for both groups will consist of Judgment Writing, Order Writing, and Problem Solving sections on July 23. The exact dates and times for the fourth paper will be announced later.

The minimum qualifications and experience are as prescribed in the Constitution of Nepal. The candidates for the position of District Judge come from various ethnic groups and are expected to perform duties as prescribed for District Judges under prevailing law.

The deadline for application is within 30 days from the date of publication of this notice; additional 7 days with double fee. The interview date will be announced when the written exam results are published.
