In an exciting turn of events, Holy Cross's Battle of the Bands, a cherished tradition that brings the community together, took place in Crossroads on April 12, 2025. Ten student bands and performers showcased their talents, with Performer John Mondi '25 of The System taking the coveted title.

The event, which was Halloween-themed, kicked off at 6:15 pm and lasted until 9:45 pm, despite being moved indoors due to the weather. The System's victory was a testament to their hard work and dedication, as they had the event marked on their calendar all year as a significant campus event.

The System's win came as no surprise to Emily Kelley, the treasurer of CAB and the head of the music committee. She expressed her awe, stating that Battle of the Bands represents the Crusader spirit in its purest form. The event saw students coming together to hear the bands, support their friends, and enjoy a great night as part of the Holy Cross community.

Following their victory, The System will open for the Spring Concert, scheduled for May 2nd. The concert will also feature another popular student band, Missionary, who won Battle of the Bands in their sophomore year and went on to open for Two Friends at a previous Spring Concert. However, the Spring Concert artist for the 2025 Battle of the Bands winner remains undisclosed.

The Battle of the Bands was just one of the many end-of-year events that made Spring on the Hill one of the best times of the year. With flowers blooming, sun shining, and the campus buzzing with excitement, the community came together to celebrate.

On a separate note, around 500 admitted students attended Admitted Students Day on April 14th, a day designed to celebrate their admission to the Class of 2028. This event, while separate from Battle of the Bands, added to the vibrant atmosphere on campus.

The CAB Music Committee also hosted a successful band night on November 1, 2024, further demonstrating their commitment to promoting music and community spirit at Holy Cross.
