Expansion Pack Unveiled for Mario Kart 8 Deluxe
Mario Kart fans, get ready to rev your engines! Nintendo has announced the release of the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe - Booster Course Pass DLC, a paid expansion that brings a whopping 48 remastered courses to the popular racing game.
This DLC, available for purchase from Nintendo.com and the Nintendo eShop, includes six waves, each consisting of eight tracks (two cups). The complete set will be available by November 9, 2023.
The courses are largely based on those from Mario Kart Tour, sharing a similar graphic style and design. However, certain visual updates that fans had hoped for were not implemented.
With this expansion, Mario Kart 8 Deluxe will boast a total of 96 regular courses and 104 courses when including battle stages. This makes it the first title in the series to feature triple-digit course numbers.
The Booster Course Pass adds new characters and features like item customization in VS mode and a music player, but the primary focus remains the additional courses.
Details on Availability and Cost
The Booster Course Pass is a paid downloadable content expansion. It was released sequentially through 2022 into 2023 as paid waves. Racers with an active Nintendo Switch Online + Expansion Pack membership can access the DLC at no additional cost.
For those without the membership, the exact cost is not stated, but the DLC is sold as a single integrated pass covering all six waves. It can be used only with the Mario Kart 8 Deluxe game on Nintendo Switch.
