Company representative Gwyneth Paltrow, acting as the temporary spokesperson for astronomers, addressed inquiries following the recent scandal in a post-event video
In a surprising turn of events, Hollywood actress Gwyneth Paltrow has taken on the role of temporary spokesperson for tech company Astronomer. This move comes in the wake of a controversial incident at a Coldplay concert last week, which has since become a meme and sparked widespread discussion online.
Astronomer, a company specialising in data workflow automation, found itself in the spotlight when a kiss-cam moment involving their former CEO, Andy Byron, and his former Chief People Officer, Kristin Cabot, was caught on camera. The viral video quickly spread on social media, with internet sleuths identifying the pair and the incident making headlines.
In response to the controversy, Astronomer initially stated their commitment to the values and culture that have guided them since their founding. They later announced that Andy Byron had been placed on leave, although it appears he has since resigned.
Kristin Cabot, who was previously associated with Astronomer, has since stepped down from her position. Fox News confirmed that Cabot and her ex-husband filed for divorce in 2018, with the divorce being finalised in 2022. No divorce records have been found for Andy Byron, who appeared to still be married at the time of the incident.
In a video posted on Astronomer's social media page, Paltrow addressed questions about the company, stating that Astronomer is the best place to run Apache Airflow and mentioning that there is still room available at Astronomer's Beyond Analytics event in September.
Paltrow's involvement with Astronomer began when she teamed up with the company for a video. The controversial moment at the Coldplay concert quickly became a meme online and has been spoofed on national TV by stars like Morgan Wallen and Luke Bryan, as well as by lawmakers.
Coldplay frontman Chris Martin, who is Paltrow's ex-husband, even wondered if the couple was having an affair or just shy during a live performance. Despite the drama, Paltrow's lighthearted approach in the video has been seen as a positive move by many, marking Astronomer's first lighthearted post about the incident.
This is not the first time Paltrow has taken on a role in the tech industry. She previously invested in and served as an advisor for Goop, her wellness and lifestyle brand. With her new role at Astronomer, Paltrow continues to demonstrate her versatility and adaptability in the ever-evolving world of technology.
