Committee Denies Being a Weapon against Party Members by Oruruo

Steve Oruruo, a prominent PDP figure from Enugu State, assures that his committee will uphold fairness and justice as they nurture the party's order. The committee, backed by the party's constitution, is set to maintain firmness and promote a sense of authority while emphasizing fairness and equity.

The committee was inaugurated at the recent PDP Southeast Zonal Executive Committee meeting in Enugu, presided over by the party's National Vice Chairman (Southeast), Ali Odefa. Other committee members include Clem Ezika (SAN) as Secretary, and Tony Ezebuiro, Emeka Irem, and Fortune Akujuobi.

Speaking to journalists, Oruruo, known for his role as Enugu's PDP Deputy Chairman, underlined the committee's commitment to the provisions of the PDP's laws. Oruruo is also a seasoned party administrator, political strategist, and public affairs analyst.

"We are keen to create firmness, a sense of authority with which it was renowned. And in doing this, there must be fairness, there must be justice, and there must be equity, and a good conscience." Oruruo emphasized that the committee will not serve as a vicious weapon against party members, but as an instrument to foster peace and unity.

The committee's role is not to target individuals in misconduct but to facilitate reconciliation. In his words, "Our role is also to foster reconciliation and, where possible, pursue mediation and arbitration, a process aimed at uniting people".

Oruruo urged committee members to embody their important roles by maintaining discipline as they carry out their duties.
