HÀ NỘI - The National Assembly (NA) Standing Committee completed its 46th session on Tuesday, ticking off all items on the agenda.
In his closing words, NA Chairman Trản Thanh Mạn emphasized that this session tackled numerous pressing and long-term, strategic matters, some of which required collaboration between multiple agencies for resolution.
The NA Standing Committee scrutinized and provisionally endorsed resolutions concerning the arrangement of commune-level administrative units in 2025 and debated revisions to the draft Law on State Budget (amended). They also deliberated over the assessment and revision of 28 draft laws from the initial phase of the 9th session of the 15th NA, preparing them for presentation to the legislature for ratification in the upcoming second phase.
Full-time lawmakers weighed in with their thoughts on the bills, paving the way for submission to the NA. The committee also agreed to forward to the house a draft law enhancing and amending 11 laws in the military and defense fields; a project for restructuring provincial-level administrative units in 2025; and the investment policy for Ho Chi Minh City's Ring Road 4 construction project.
The committee also approved one ordinance adjusting Article 10 of the Population Ordinance and six resolutions within its jurisdiction; they also provisionally endorsed resolutions on reorganizing commune-level administrative units in 2025.
The NA Chairman asserted that the session's conclusion marked a comprehensive review to effectively prepare for the second phase of the 9th session, starting on June 11 and concluding on June 27. He noted that significant issues had been clarified, allowing agencies to complete their tasks, enhance the quality of their submissions to the NA, and ensure that each decision made by the NA is not just passed but effectively implemented, yielding tangible benefits for the people and driving the country's rapid and sustainable development.
