The white-tailed deer causing chaos in Dresden, Saxony's security haven has yet to meet its match. The animal roams freely in a forests shared by the State Office for the Protection of the Constitution, the State Criminal Police Office, and the Police Administration Office, otherwise known as the triple-secret-service of Dresden. Walls and security measures are no barriers for this sly four-legged intruder.

The elusive deer has lived in this small forest for over six years, managing to dodge the spotlight until recently, when it gained national attention. In an article by Bild, the deer is praised for its streetwise skills and cunning moves. But now, it's time for Bambi to bid adieu to its underground residence.

The property will soon be undergoing a massive renovation - a gargantuan 12-million-euro construction project. The site will host 271 new parking spaces, replacing the 85 that once stood. This leaves our forest-dwelling friend no choice, but to pack up and move. But, the deer's knack for evading capture has left government officials in a bit of a pickle.

Catching a Smart Roe Deer

The animal's intelligence, some believe, might outmatch conventional devices like live traps. It's hard to argue with success, given the deer's six-year-run in the heart of Saxony's security infrastructure. Some go so far as to speculate that the roe deer might have certain special abilities, making it untouchable.

ThexDresden's police spokesman, Kay Anders, believes the roe deer can still be caught alive, and rehomed before construction begins. A delicate plan is in the works, but details remain scarce. As of now, the deer continues to roam unbothered, enjoying the waning days of spring in its secret hideaway.

The deer's days of peace might be numbered, though, as construction is set to commence in June. If the animal refuses to cooperate, there's a chance it might be targeted. Anders makes it clear that the ideal outcome would be to relocate the deer voluntarily or through carefully planned means, avoiding any unnecessary harm.

Comfortable in the City of Spies

Unlike classic deer tales, our Dresden deer seems to have found a home in a city otherwise known for its espionage and law enforcement. The deer enjoys a luxurious life thanks to an abundance of food and hiding spots within the secure area. Police employees have even shared some positive interactions with the deer, putting out water for it in the summer months.

However, these good times might soon come to an end, and the deer will be forced to face the unknown. Until the deer chooses to leave or is successfully caught, it can continue to enjoy its carefree existence, living among shadows and secrets in the heart of Dresden.
