Unfortunate Incident in Vienna
In the heart of Vienna, a shocking encounter left a 30-year-old man from Romania battered and bleeding. Back from a night out, our victim found himself in the wrong place at the wrong time, according to the Vienna police.
Sunday night, around 11:00 PM, the victim was assaulted in a popular municipal building, situated on Siebenbrunnengasse and Margartengürtel. Two unidentified individuals, described as potentially of Arabic or Afghan descent, attacked him with a knife. The man sustained multiple wounds to his abdomen, thigh, and upper arm. Amazingly, he declined medical attention from the emergency services.
A Night to Remember - or Forget
Our victim was on his way to a local establishment when he passed through a residential complex. There, he crosses paths with two hostile men, who started shouting at him without warning. The Romanian couldn't recall their exact words, but one of them eventually pulled out a knife and attacked him.
An alert resident heard the commotion and frantically phoned the police. The victim managed to escape and seek refuge in an inner courtyard. However, before the police could arrive, his attackers had disappeared.
More Trouble in Vienna
A quick search for the suspects proved unsuccessful. One of them, about 25 to 30 years old, was seen wearing a blue Adidas sports jacket with three white stripes and black pants. Another wore a black jacket and gray trousers. Both were likely of Arabic descent, as described by the victim.
Some may recall a similar, unsettling event in Vienna earlier:
- Teenager in Trouble: In another Vienna incident involving violence and knives, a 16-year-old required hospitalization with serious injuries after being stabbed in the inner courtyard of a residence.*
Barring additional local news sources or official reports, the specifics of this knife attack remain elusive.
- The identified perpetrators of the assault are believed to be of Arabic or Afghan descent, based on the victim's description.
- The perpetrators' escape location remains unknown, as they disappeared before the arrival of the Vienna police.
- The ongoing siege at Siebenbrunnengasse and Margartengürtel, where the assault occurred, currently falls under the categories of crime-and-justice, general-news, and politics.
- The 23rd victim in Vienna's crime scene, a 30-year-old man from Romania who was attacked with a knife, declined medical attention despite his severe wounds.
