In a disappointing display, TSV 1860 Munich suffered a 1:5 loss against TSG Hoffenheim II on matchday 2 of the 3. Liga. The game started with a setback for TSV 1860 as Sigurd Haugen arrived too late for evaluation, leaving the team short-handed. Despite this, the team took to the field, with Sean Dulic and Siemen Voet starting in the three-man defense. The first half proved to be a challenging one for TSV 1860. Thomas Dähne's performance was rated 4 out of 10, and he conceded a goal to Amaimouni-Echghouyab in the 39th minute. Voet, who started in the central position in the three-chain, struggled and was moved to the left later in the half. Coach Glöckner ordered a tactical role backwards for Dulic after 25 minutes, but the team continued to struggle. Kevin Volland, a returnee, lacked impulses and appeared lethargic, while Florian Niederlechner struggled to find rhythm. In the second half, TSV 1860 made some changes. Raphael Schifferl replaced Jesper Verlaat and was sorted into the three-chain on the right. Julius Steinkötter, despite being unlucky in actions, created the best Lion's goal opportunity so far (60.). However, it was David Philipp who turned the game around for TSV 1860. He was substituted in for Siemen Voet in the second half and contributed significantly by scoring the 1-4 goal due to Hoffenheim's Behrens injury. Max Christiansen had at least a few ball wins but lacked ball security. Manuel Pfeifer was overwhelmed by Amaimouni-Echghouyab and hardly visible in the attack. Marvin Rittmüller was erroneous and ineffective in almost every respect, while Tunay Deniz failed to provide calm and ball security, and didn't manage to close the center. Patrick Hobsch made a debut appearance with a header after a corner (30), but was dependent on being set up. Clemens Lippmann, a third league debutant, tried and fought valiantly, earning a note of 4 out of 10. Thore Jacobsen took over the captain's armband but played below potential, losing rhythm. Despite the efforts of all players, TSV 1860 were unable to mount a comeback, ultimately ending the game with a disappointing 1:5 defeat.
