In the year 2006, Ulrich Glauche, head of GEFMA's guideline system, orchestrated the initial GEFMA biker excursion, joining eight eager motorcyclists from the association's circle. At that time, the acronym 'GEFMA' was in uppercase, and the term 'excursion' encompassed not just educational...

In the heart of September 2021, 14 motorcyclists embarked on an exciting adventure, marking the 20th anniversary of the GEFMA Biker Tour. Organised by Wolfgang Inderwies, head of the GEFMA working group "Tendering and Awarding", this year's tour was a celebration of camaraderie, history, and the spirit of exploration.

The journey began in Franconian Switzerland, with the pilgrimage priest of the monastery of Vierzehnheiligen, Father Stanislaus, leading a vehicle blessing to kickstart the tour. The route, reminiscent of the first GEFMA Biker Training Ride in 2006, took the riders through Burg Rabenstein, the Devil's Cave Pottenstein, and the market Goßweinstein, where they visited the pilgrimage church of the Holy Trinity.

Throughout the tour, participants were challenged to guess the next stage destination based on professional questions, a tradition that has become a beloved part of the GEFMA Biker Tour. The group was also treated to a spontaneous organ concert during their visit to Vierzehnheiligen, adding an unexpected yet delightful touch to the cultural experience.

A part of the group undertook a "culture tour" on Friday, visiting the minor basilica of Vierzehnheiligen, planned by Balthasar Neumann. The tour concluded with a hearty snack at the Metzgerbräu Uetzing, providing a perfect ending to an eventful day.

Upon returning to the Hotel Zum Löwen in Schwabthal, the total distance travelled was over 230 km, and the total altitude gained was nearly 2,900 meters. The tour was not just a test of endurance but also a testament to the power of the GEFMA bikers, with a total of 33 cylinders, 14,741 cc of displacement, and 1,738 PS of power.

The 20th GEFMA Biker Tour was a special occasion, and it was fitting that Ulrich Glauche, the founder of the GEFMA Biker Tour, attended the concluding dinner. Bernd Obermaier, a long-time lounge leader of Bavaria and Bundeskassenprüfer of GEFMA, also participated in all twenty GEFMA Biker Tours, making this year's event even more significant.

Looking forward, the next GEFMA Biker Tour will take place in the Allgäu in September 2026. Martin Gräber and Wolfgang Inderwies will be organising the event, and interested parties can contact Wolfgang Inderwies at [email protected] for more information.

The 20th GEFMA Biker Tour was a testament to the spirit of adventure, camaraderie, and the love for motorcycles that unites the GEFMA community. As the sun sets on this year's tour, the anticipation for the next one grows, promising more memories, challenges, and unforgettable experiences.
