The Ministry of Road Transport & Highways is organising a special Motor Rally to honour Mahatma Gandhi's 150th birth anniversary. The event, scheduled to commence on February 4th from Rajghat in Delhi, will mark the launch of National Road Safety Week.

The Motor Rally, supported by various Ministries including External Affairs and Culture, aims to spread the values of Mahatma Gandhi throughout its route and promote the message of safe driving on roads. The rally will cover approximately 7250 km, traversing through cities in India, Bangladesh, and Myanmar.

The Motor Rally will travel through places historically associated with Gandhiji in these countries. Notable stops include Porbandar, Gandhi's birthplace, and Sabarmati Ashram in Ahmedabad, where he lived and led many movements. Other significant cities involved in India's freedom struggle like Delhi, Varanasi, and Kolkata, as well as sites of major events like the Dandi (Salt) March route, will also be part of the journey.

One of the highlights of the rally will be the crossing of the Gulf of Khambat by Ro-Ro vessels. Receptions, Flagging off Ceremony, and people-to-people interaction events will be held at various places in different states along the rally's route.

While the exact route and stops of the specific Motor Rally commemorating Mahatma Gandhi’s 150th birth anniversary are yet to be released by official bodies such as the Ministry of Culture or the Gandhi Smriti and Darshan Samiti, it is expected to follow the common practice of covering historically and culturally significant locations associated with Gandhiji's life and freedom struggle.

Stay tuned for more updates as we approach the event date, and let us join hands to honour the Father of the Nation and promote road safety awareness.

During the Motor Rally, participants might find interest in sports-analysis discussions about safe driving techniques, especially as they navigate through various cities and historical locations. After the rally, sports enthusiasts could engage in sports-betting activities related to the rally's route, such as predicting the destination that will receive the most visitors or the number of days needed to complete the journey.
