Commemorative postage stamps honor the 75-year milestone of the Peanuts comic strip
On July 24, 2025, Royal Mail is set to release a new stamp collection commemorating the 75th anniversary of the beloved comic strip Peanuts. The collection features eight First Class landscape stamps that celebrate the timeless charm of the comic, which first appeared in print on October 2, 1950.
The stamps, which will go on general sale from July 24, showcase various iconic moments from the comic strip. One stamp depicts Lucy, Snoopy, and Charlie Brown celebrating together, while another shows Charlie Brown and Snoopy braving the rain. Snoopy and Woodstock are shown on guard duty outside Buckingham Palace, and Schroeder is depicted playing Pomp and Circumstance No 1 by Edward Elgar on the piano. Other stamps feature Charlie Brown and Franklin playing football, Lucy and Linus enjoying a day at the seaside building a sandcastle, and Snoopy perched on a red postbox with Woodstock.
Pre-orders for the stamps and a range of collectible products began on Thursday, July 17, allowing fans to secure these items ahead of the general sale. The stamp set, priced at £13.60, can be purchased individually or as part of a Peanuts Presentation Pack, which includes insights into the characters and the comic's history.
David Gold, Royal Mail's director of external affairs and policy, made a statement about the Peanuts stamps, calling them a heartfelt tribute to Charles M Schulz's enduring legacy. The stamps feature specially adapted artworks from classic comic strips, ensuring that the characters' charm and personality shine through.
At its peak, Peanuts was published in over 2,600 newspapers globally and was read by millions of people worldwide. The comic strip's timeless appeal and enduring popularity make it the perfect subject for a stamp collection, and Royal Mail's Peanuts 75th anniversary stamp collection is set to be a must-have for fans and collectors alike.
