In the picturesque Kuban region, a new memorial has been unveiled at the strategic Aishkha Pass. This monument, titled "Soldiers Who Gave Their Lives for Freedom and Independence of the Motherland," stands tall at an altitude of nearly 2,500 metres, serving as a poignant tribute to the brave soldiers who sacrificed their lives for their homeland.

The installation of the monument was initiated by the Emergency Situations Ministry of Kuban, with regional minister Sergei Shchrikov making a statement about its care being under the 'Kuban-SPA' service. The ministry's employees and subordinate institutions regularly participate in events to preserve memorials throughout the Caucasus Nature Reserve and the entire Krasnodar Krai.

The Aishkha Pass held strategic importance during the defense of Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana. In the past, it was the site of fierce resistance that played a crucial role in halting the Caucasian offensive. Enemy forces were unable to break through the pass, encountering the unyielding bravery of the soldiers stationed there.

The sculpture, a moving depiction of a soldier kneeling in remembrance of the fallen, stands 1.7 metres tall. The monument was unveiled in 1972 and has since stood as a testament to the heroism of the soldiers who defended the region.

Two significant exhibitions, "Heart in the Mountains" and "Black and White War," are set to open in Krasnodar in August, providing visitors with a deeper understanding of the historical events that unfolded in the Kuban region.

For those interested in staying updated on the Krasnodar Krai administration's activities, subscribing to their social media platforms "VKontakte" and "Odnoklassniki" is encouraged. The administration continues to honour and commemorate the heroes of the past while working to preserve the region's rich history for future generations.

A discussion about the newly unveiled memorial at Aishkha Pass, a strategic site where soldiers showed unprecedented bravery during war-and-conflicts, particularly the defense of Sochi and Krasnaya Polyana, is imminent in the political and general news arenas. This monument, part of events aimed at preserving memorials throughout the Caucasus Nature Reserve and the entire Krasnodar Krai, serves as a reminder of the sacrifices made during those conflicts.

The upcoming exhibitions, "Heart in the Mountains" and "Black and White War," scheduled to open in Krasnodar in August, will delve further into the politics and war-and-conflicts that shaped the Kuban region's history, offering visitors an enlightening experience.
