The Padma Bridge, a marvel of modern engineering in Bangladesh, has been transformed into a historical canvas, thanks to a special initiative by the Bangladesh Bridge Authority. At both ends of the bridge (Mawa and Jajira), a series of commemorative graffiti now stand as a visual tribute to the July Revolution and People's Uprising, a significant event in the country's history.

This unique blend of history and aesthetics aims to keep alive the legacy of past struggles for future generations. The graffiti narrates the defiant spirit of the people and the sacrifices they made, inspiring a new generation about Bangladesh's resilient past and democratic journey.

Under the direction of Mr Muhammad Fouzul Kabir Khan, Honourable Adviser to the Ministry of Road Transport and Bridges in the Interim Government of the People's Republic of Bangladesh, the graffiti symbolizes the heroism, sacrifice, and democratic ideals of the July Revolution. It is a testament to the event's association with the pursuit of freedom, democracy, and human rights.

The event is marked by the sacrifice of brave martyrs and the resilience of the masses. During his visit to the graffiti site on 7 August 2025, Mr Mohammad Abdur Rouf, Secretary of the Bridges Division and Executive Director of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority, expressed his appreciation for the graffiti work, stating that it captures the glorious history of the July Revolution through art.

Mr Altaf Hossain Sheikh, Director (Administration), Mr Kazi Mohammad Ferdaus, Chief Engineer of the Bangladesh Bridge Authority, and officials from both the authority and the Munshiganj district administration accompanied Mr Mohammad Abdur Rouf during his visit.

The graffiti initiative seeks to merge the spirit of the July movement with the architectural grandeur of the Padma Bridge. By doing so, it deepens public pride and understanding of these pivotal events in Bangladesh's history.
