Commemoration March in Warsaw Honors Victims Deported Away from Home
This July 22nd, the streets of Warsaw will once again echo with a solemn procession, the March of Remembrance. The event pays tribute to those who fell victim in the Warsaw Ghetto's deportation during World War II.
Known as the Great Liquidation Action, the tragic event began on the aforementioned date in 1942 and concluded on September 21st of the same year. Approximately 300,000 Jews were deported from the Warsaw Ghetto to the Treblinka extermination camp during this period.
