At the time of the 2024 Bundestag decision, Germany was governed by a coalition known as the "traffic light coalition," comprising the Social Democratic Party (SPD), Alliance 90/The Greens, and the Free Democratic Party (FDP). This government led the way during the preparations for the first official Veterans' Day in 2025 and the inaugural event.
