The Combined Commanders' Conference (CCC) 2025, held in Kolkata from September 15 to 17, saw significant decisions being made to enhance the efficiency and coordination in operations across the three services.

The apex-level forum of the Armed Forces, the CCC, brings together senior decision-makers from the Ministry of Defence and the three Services. During the conference, the Service Chiefs and Commanders made a series of decisions aimed at boosting jointness in the armed forces.

One of the key decisions was the establishment of three Joint Military Stations across the country. The locations of these stations have not been specified, but they are intended to improve operational efficiency and coordination among the three services.

Another significant decision made was the merger of the education branches of the Army, Navy, and Air Force to form a single Tri-Services Education Corps. This move is expected to foster a more unified approach to education and training within the armed forces.

The Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff announced these decisions in a statement, but did not provide any details about the timeline for their implementation.

Gen. Anil Chauhan, the Chief of Defence Staff, reviewed the directions given by Prime Minister Narendra Modi and Defence Minister Rajnath Singh, and discussed the roadmap for implementing these decisions in a time-bound manner.

However, the CCC 2025 did not provide any information about the decisions made by the Service Chiefs and Commanders or the location of the three Joint Military Stations.

The CCC 2025 did not discuss any new decisions or updates from the Headquarters Integrated Defence Staff. It also did not discuss the specific decisions regarding the merger of the education branches of the Army, Navy, and Air Force.

The CCC fosters strategic and conceptual dialogue to shape the future roadmap of the Armed Forces, and enhances jointness, guides capability development, and ensures alignment with national security priorities. The decisions made at the CCC 2025 are expected to contribute to these objectives.
