Colombian Radical Hinestroza Proposes Alliance to Benfica

In the ongoing transfer market speculation, Colombian attacker Marino Hinestroza has been linked with a move to Portuguese powerhouse Benfica. However, as of August 2025, no official confirmation or completion of the transfer has taken place.

Hinestroza, who is currently 23 years old, has been a key player for Atlético Nacional since joining the club in 2024. This season, he has participated in 33 matches, scoring five goals and providing eight assists, showcasing his impressive form.

The proposed transfer fee for the winger is reportedly €8 million, a figure that has been widely circulated in the media. The news was first reported on SIC News' Mercado Aberto, hosted by Marco Caneira and Luís Aguilar.

Despite the reported offer, Atlético Nacional has retained Hinestroza for their Libertadores campaign, suggesting no completed sale has taken place. Furthermore, reports from August explicitly state that Hinestroza does not enter Benfica's plans, indicating no official transfer or agreement has taken place.

Before joining Atlético Nacional, Hinestroza had stints with América de Cali (Colombia), Palmeiras (Brazil), Pachuca (Mexico), and Columbus Crew (USA). Hinestroza's international career includes a cap for Colombia.

Benfica, who are considering signing a winger for reinforcement, have not made any official statement regarding the potential signing of Marino Hinestroza. As such, fans and pundits alike will have to wait for further developments before any conclusions can be drawn about the Colombian attacker's future.
